Christian Howse is a singer-songwriter from Newfoundland, Canada, who is making waves in the East Coast music scene. Releasing his fifth album, ‘Liminal’, Christian’s raw talent and dedication to his craft shines through his music.
Christian Howse’s previous releases can be described as a cross between Donovan Woods and Daniel Champagne, using his unique brand of percussive fingerstyle guitar. The new release, Liminal, takes an even edgier approach, exploring sound with unique interpretations, and has been likened to Dawes.
His most recent Nominations include 2018 Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for Young Performer of the Year, and 3 MusicNL Nominations for 2019 Rising Star, Male Artist, and Folk/Roots Artist of the Year.
The project, Liminal, was begun months before the Covid 19 Pandemic, but turned out to be a very apt theme for the times.
Defined as: liminal: an intermediate state, phase, or condition : IN-BETWEEN, TRANSITIONAL
This record tells stories of life, tales of people in that place of transition. The musical elements support each message, enhancing Christian Howse’s poetic ability with lyrics.

3.‘Down the Drain’ – a contemplative folk story
4.‘Stress Dreams” – a confession with an urgent driving country feel
5.’New Tricks’- yearning, broody and decisive
6.‘Bite Me’ – a quirky, gypsy, klezmer feel

The Newfoundland Herald calls Howse a “musical prodigy….embarrassingly talented…” and “everything you want in an artist.”
