Jerry Stamp was known for being an emotive solo singer-songwriter, producer, and frontman for rock band King Nancy. Stamp took his Bachelor of Classical Music degree and toured extensively both solo and with the band, winning several awards and releasing 12 albums over the span of his 20+ year career. Disaster struck in the form of a particularly debilitating auto-immune disease which forced him to put aside his musical pursuits and look somewhere else.
Wanting to stay tangentially linked to music he studied graphic design hoping to stylize the occasional album for a musical comrade in need of a keen eye. It turns out he was meant for it. He excelled; graduating from College of the North Atlantic with honours and specializing in photography, typography, layout and image manipulation. Jerry has barely had time to promote his new design career as he has been steadily working since 2016. He has already designed 10 albums this year so far, with several more waiting in the wings, as well as numerous posters and promotional campaigns. Stamp has done photography, video, editing, design and production for multiple artists. Stamp was nominated for the Nickel MusicNL video of the year in 2018 for Ian Foster’s New Rush For An Old Town; the first music video he ever wrote, shot and edited.
Jerry Stamp has designed album artwork and promotional pieces for everything from folk, rock, jazz, trad, metal and everything in between. His studies in music history and performance have informed his knowledge of styles and themes used in various genres throughout history.
