Darrin Feehan began playing the accordion at the age of 6, taught/mentored by his father Frank Feehan. In 1987, he took over playing the accordion for Skipper Jim Ring with the Quidi Vidi Ceilidh Band 2 weeks before Skipper's passing.
As a member of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, he also played with the RNC's Police Band during the latter part of the 80's, the same band his father played with through the 60's and 70's.
In April 1999, he and friend Jim Carroll formed the Roots band Síochána. There have been many musicians come and go and 20+ years later, the band still carries on with a new lineup. He is joined by longtime member Wayne James, Ian Crewe, Bruce Blackwood and Sonny Hogan
In 2000, Darrin joined the PCNSO, but left again in 2002 after the birth of his twins. In 2018, he returned to choral singing by joining with the QVE.
