FACTOR

FACTOR’s programming structure is unique – there are two things to look at when you apply: components, and programs. A component is a collection of related activities that are eligible to be funded by FACTOR. Some components appear in multiple programs. For example, the sound recording component can be found in any program where you make a recording.

Similarly, a program is a collection of components that FACTOR has put together to maximize the commercial potential of the project. Some programs have only one component, such as Business Development.  When a program has multiple components, you can apply for each component individually as part of an approved project. Whether you can or should apply for a component within one particular program or another depends on your eligibility, or your commercial or funding strategy.

The Artist Development Program offers a $2,000 subsidy toward a year of artist development activities such as recording, touring & showcasing, video production, and marketing.
