FIVE MUSICNL MEMBERS NOMINATED FOR CANADIAN FOLK MUSIC AWARDS

MusicNL is excited to announce that five of its members have been nominated for a 2018 Canadian Folk Music Award.

As a sign of things to come, two of these members – Christian Howse and Earle & Coffin (Nick Earle and Joseph Coffin) who are all signed under The Citadel House record label in Lewisporte, NL – are nominated for Young Performer of the Year.

The Swinging Belles’ album “The Superstar Sibling Detective Agency” is nominated for Children’s Album of the Year. The threesome, which includes Laura Winter, Erin Power and Duane Andrews, won that very award back in 2015 for “More Sheep, Less Sleep”.

Matthew Byrne doubled up this year after being nominated for Traditional Singer of the Year and Traditional Album of the Year courtesy his recording “Horizon Lines”. Byrne’s “Hearts & Heroes” album won the 2015 award for Traditional Album of the Year.

Kellie Loder’s “Benefit of the Doubt” album helped her garner a Contemporary Singer of the Year nomination.

The Canadian Folk Music Awards 2018 will take place from November 30-December 1 in Calgary, AB, at The Gateway.
