Kellie Loder is a Juno Nominated singer / songwriter from Newfoundland & Labrador, and very much a part of the vibrant artistic community she grew up in. Loder has a voice, which the NL Telegram describes as “so powerful, yet serene and soulful”. She is quickly becoming recognized as one of the province’s most prolific songwriters bringing honest, dynamic feeling and lyrically driven content to each song. Her melodies never fail to get stuck in the heads of her audience, and are accompanied always by a powerful performance.
On February 3rd, 2017, Loder released to radio a single titled “Boxes” to work as a tastemaker for her upcoming full album set to be released in September 2017. Loder’s 3rd release is in the final stages, and she is currently working on a summer tour of NL and Eastern Canada in order to get her feet wet prior to the album launch.
Loder opened for Alan Doyle & The Beautiful Gypsy’s at the 2016 George Street Festival and has also shared stages with artists such as Northern Ireland’s songwriting sensation Paul
Brady, and award winning NL artist, Amelia Curran. Others played with are Ria Mae, The East Pointers, Matt Mays, Repartee, Fortunate Ones, Sherman Downey, and more. Loder has showcased at the ECMA’s, MUSIC NL Week, and CMW. She was named regional winner, and a top ten finalist in the 2015 National CBC Searchlight Competition. In 2015 and 2016, Loder was selected from the many applicants for the Bell Media Songwriting Challenge. This opportunity introduced her to the idea of co-writing and also to the collaboration with award-winning songwriter / producer Justin Gray (John Legend, Mariah Carey, Amy Winehouse and more) who produced a few tracks on her upcoming album. The Bell Media Songwriting Challenge also introduced Loder to Sandy Pandya, and that ultimately led to Loder
signing a worldwide publishing deal with Pandyamonium Music Publishing. With two albums behind her, Loder’s upcoming release showcases the growth and maturity she has gone through as an artist and a songwriter and promises to be something to watch out for this fall.
