A bit about this weeks host, Evan David AuCoin:
Small town songwriter Evan AuCoin has been honing his craft on the city’s stages for just over five years now. In that time he’s become a regular on the St. John’s scene as a solo performer and with his bands Port of Call and the Beautiful Wrecks. AuCoin is a consumate songwriter, inspired by the like of Ryan Adams, Jeff Tweedy, and Taylor Goldsmith to name a few. His first EP, Coffee, Whisky, & Empty Beds, recorded and engineered by Georgie Newman, was released in November 2013 and was followed up last ear by a collection of singles called Passing Thoughts. This singles, recorded by Ian Foster, represent the maturation of AuCoin’s sound. Both collections are available on BandCamp, iTunes, and other major online music outlets. Currently, Evan is working on new recordings with Port of Call and new music with the Beautiful Wrecks, as well as planning some travel across the island this summer with The Celtic Fiddlers.
